1. Purpose and eligibility

Placement Compass provides structured, agency-level information about MFT practicum placements. It is intended for informational and educational use. It is not a licensing-board record, school placement approval, employment reference, legal opinion, clinical recommendation, emergency service, or formal complaint system.

You must be at least 18 and legally able to agree to these Terms. Submit a placement rating only if you are a current or former trainee or associate with direct experience at the selected agency.

2. Rating rules

Ratings express a contributor’s personal perception. They are not verified findings that an agency or person violated a law, contract, ethical rule, or professional standard.

You agree not to

• rate an agency you did not directly experience;
• submit ratings for compensation, retaliation, manipulation, or on another person’s behalf;
• identify a supervisor, colleague, trainee, client, student, or family;
• submit client information, clinical material, confidential records, threats, impersonation, or unlawful content;
• circumvent duplicate controls or coordinate artificial rating activity; or
• misstate an individual’s name as an agency or placement program.

Placement Compass may reject, restrict, investigate, aggregate, correct, or remove content when reasonably necessary to protect privacy, address manipulation, comply with law, or enforce these Terms. Negative sentiment alone is not a basis for removal.

3. Historical seed data

The directory includes limited, non-identifying category responses derived from a previously shared anonymous practicum-feedback spreadsheet. Placement Compass excludes names, contact information, school affiliation, cohort dates, exact addresses, and written narratives from the public site.

Historical category responses are converted using the rubric disclosed on the homepage. They are not treated as new ratings submitted under these Terms.

4. Agency listings and requests

Use of an agency’s public organization or program name does not imply sponsorship, partnership, endorsement, or affiliation. Agencies and community members may request correction of objective profile details, report suspected manipulation, or request review of privacy and legal concerns.

Placement Compass evaluates requests under its published Correction & Removal Procedure. Payment, advertising, threats, or disagreement with a subjective score will not determine the outcome.

5. No warranties or professional advice

The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Placement Compass disclaims warranties of accuracy, completeness, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Scores may be based on small samples and may not represent every program, location, supervisor, or time period.

Do not rely on this site as your only source when selecting a placement. Confirm requirements with your school, the agency, and the appropriate licensing authority.

6. Responsibility and limitation of liability

You remain responsible for the legality and accuracy of your submission and for decisions you make using the site. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Placement Compass and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. California law governs these Terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where another law must apply.
