Correction & removal procedure

Correct facts without selling influence.

Effective November 3, 2026No pay-to-removePrivacy-first review

This process covers objective listing corrections, suspected manipulation, historical-data exclusion, privacy concerns, and legally required removal. It is not a channel for identifying reviewers.

1. Requests accepted

  • Objective correction: an agency name, city, county, program type, or other verifiable directory fact is inaccurate.
  • Integrity review: there is a good-faith basis to suspect duplicate, coordinated, compensated, retaliatory, automated, or fabricated ratings.
  • Historical-data exclusion: a person believes their response may be included in the imported historical aggregates and asks that it be excluded.
  • Privacy or safety: displayed information may identify a trainee, supervisor, client, student, or other person, or may expose confidential information.
  • Legal removal: content is alleged to violate applicable law, a binding order, or another enforceable right.

2. How to submit a complete request

Email the published request address with the subject “Placement Compass content request.” Include:

  1. the request type from the list above;
  2. the agency or program name and the exact page or content involved;
  3. the specific correction or action requested;
  4. a short explanation of the factual, privacy, integrity, or legal basis;
  5. public supporting sources when requesting an objective correction; and
  6. a contact email for the response.

Do not send client information, therapy records, student records, government identifiers, passwords, medical details, or allegations about a named supervisor. Redact unnecessary personal information.

An agency representative may identify their role, but Placement Compass may rely on public sources instead of requesting identity documents whenever possible.

3. Review standards

Requests are evaluated consistently, regardless of whether a rating is positive or negative. Relevant considerations include verifiable public sources, sample integrity, privacy and re-identification risk, compliance with the Terms, the distinction between subjective opinion and objective fact, and applicable legal obligations.

A low score, criticism, disagreement, threatened publicity, or an offer of payment is not by itself grounds for removal. Placement Compass will not provide browser identifiers, raw response bundles, or information intended to identify a reviewer to an agency.

4. Possible outcomes

  • correct an objective directory field;
  • add a clarification or sample-size notice;
  • exclude a historical response from future aggregates when reasonably identifiable;
  • remove or quarantine a rating that violates the Terms or shows credible manipulation;
  • reduce detail or aggregate categories to address privacy risk;
  • request limited additional information; or
  • deny the request with a brief explanation.

Urgent privacy or safety risks may be temporarily hidden while reviewed. Corrections do not guarantee removal of lawful subjective ratings.

5. Timing, records, and reconsideration

Placement Compass generally aims to acknowledge a complete request within 10 business days, but complex matters may take longer. A requester may seek one reconsideration by identifying a material fact or source that was previously unavailable.

Request communications may be retained as needed to document the review, prevent repeated abuse, comply with law, and defend legal claims. They are not published as ratings.

6. Submit a request

Use the address below. Email is not an emergency or confidential clinical channel. For immediate danger, use appropriate emergency services; for licensing or school grievances, use the responsible institution or agency.
